Etsako Central Emerges Cleanest LG In Edo State

BENIN CITY-Etsako Central Local Government Council, Fugar has emerged the cleanest local government in Edo State, with a presentation of five motorised dust bins and a gold cup for its effort.

Owan East Local Government Council Afuze, which was adjudged second best cleanest local government council got three motorised dust bins and a gold cup, while Ovia South West Local Government Council, Iguobazuwa placed third with two motorised dust bins and a gold cup to the bargain.

Making the presentation yesterday in Benin City, the State Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Clement Agba said the presentation was to encourage councils to maintain cleanliness by ensuring that our cities and drains are maintained.

“With these presentations, it is hoped that our local government councils will be spurred to keeping our cites clean by constantly ensuring that our drains and surroundings are kept clean,” the commissioner said.

Responding on behalf of other winners, the Chairman of Etsako Central Local Government Council, Hon. Joseph Ugheoke expressed appreciation to the state government and the commissioner for environment for his dedication and drive to ensuring cleanliness of the local government areas and the state.

He promised to sustain the tempo and ensure the local government emerges the cleanest in subsequent contest.
